Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Contextify. By creating an account or installing the software you agree to them. The software itself is also covered by the End User Licence Agreement included with it.

1. What Contextify is

Contextify is a proxy that runs on your machine and reduces what you pay Anthropic by caching and restructuring requests. It sits between your application and Anthropic's API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Anthropic.

2. Your account

• You must give an accurate email address and keep your password secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• One free allowance per person and per machine. Creating additional accounts to obtain more free allowance is a breach of these terms.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

3. Billing

• New accounts receive a one-off free allowance of savings, currently $15.
• Beyond that, you pre-pay for credit and are charged a percentage of the savings Contextify measures. The rate is shown in your dashboard before you buy.
• Credit is drawn down as savings are measured. Your balance cannot go below zero: when credit runs out, the software stops optimising and passes traffic through unchanged.
• Charges are based on savings measured against Anthropic's own reported usage figures.
• Prepaid credit is non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Resell, sublicense or offer Contextify as a service to third parties without written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where that restriction is unenforceable by law.
• Interfere with the service, circumvent billing or usage limits, or falsify reported usage.
• Use the service unlawfully, or to process content you have no right to process.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. The proxy runs on your machine and keeps working if our servers are unreachable — requests pass straight through to Anthropic, unoptimised. We may change or discontinue features, and will give notice of significant changes where reasonably possible.

7. Termination

You may stop using Contextify at any time and remove it completely with curl -fsSL https://contextifyai.com/uninstall.sh | bash. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where required by law. Unused prepaid credit is refundable at our discretion if we terminate your account without cause.

8. Warranty

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Contextify is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or increased API costs, arising from use of the software or the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed, and we will notify account holders by email of material changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Contextify is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
